"Sons of Anarchy" Intarsia
For this project, we had to choose any image we want and draw it on a big sheet of paper. What better than to choose the sons of anarchy logo? I had just finished watching Sons of Anarchy and I was in love with the show. I was was so excited when Mr Varney said yes to the logo. Sons of Anarchy is a very dark show and a lot of people said how do I like something so dark when I am always happy. So it was great to see the look on people's faces when they saw how complex I really am. I did something that they did not expect. I am pretty sure they expected unicorns, fairies, or flowers. Ironically, I am not in to the stuff. Yes I am a very happy person who never is angry g o for something dark and different. I do not like flowers and unicorns. I love Iron Man, Batman, Loki, Sons Of Anarchy, Lost, and the Walking Dead. Many people will be pretty surprised at what I like. Every time a group of boys talk about heroes and such and I come into the conversation, they are surprised. I love that. I love to surprise people with my complexity, even though I stand out.
I immediately started drawing it and the next day transferred it to styrofoam. To transfer it, we had to tape the the paper to the styrofoam and then trace over with pen, but we had to press down on it hard to show the outline. Then we go over it with pen. Next we had to cut it out with a special knife. I put each piece back in its place to prevent losing it. After I cut all the pieces, I painted it individually. I got a deep frame to put the pieces in there and it came into one picture. So it is like a puzzle, which I love. For the finishing touch, I went over it with polyurethane to make it shiny. The final picture is amazing and I loved every second of this project. Can't wait to take it home! The project is a little bit different from the logo. I added some color to it because I did not want it to be all black and white like the actual logo. So I painted the skull pink and the scythe brown and gold. Why pink? Mr Varney and I chose pink because we wanted something to scream Hadeel! I wear mostly pink scarves because I love to stick out of the crowd and I do.
